How is the Language Training Center program funded?

The Language Training Center (LTC) Program is funded by the Defense Language and National Security Education Office (DLNSEO) and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) IIE awards grants to U.S. institutions of higher education to support language, culture and regional training for DOD personnel.

Who can I contact to find out more about the Language Training Centers?

For general questions about the program, please send an email to LTC@iie.org. To receive specific information about training offered by a participating institution, please complete the contact form on the institution’s center page using the search feature on the website to identify which institutions offer the language and delivery method desired by your unit.

How can my institution become a Language Training Center?

Institutions are awarded a grant after successful solicitation of the Language Training Centers Request for Proposal.  Requests for proposals are announced here. The next open competition for the LTC Program is expected in the winter of 2015-2016.

 

How can my unit or I participate in a LTC course?

LTC training can be arranged for your unit by one of the nine LTCs.  Use the search feature on the website to identify which institutions offer the language and delivery method desired by your unit.  All institutions can be contacted via the Contact Us form.  A representative from the given institution will reply to you with additional details.  For further questions or inquiries, please contact LTC@iie.org.
